My Story
I started my creative life in the early 1970s as a music education major, armed with a trumpet, a voice, a piano, and the unshakable belief that music was the ultimate language. By 1975, I was composing my own works—some that made it into performances, and others that are probably best left as “personal experiments.” In 1990, I added short story writing to the mix, discovering that sometimes a well-placed sentence can evoke as much emotion as a symphony.
To keep the lights on and the instruments tuned, I spent the next three-and-a-half decades working full time in the world of software engineering. Not glamorous, but it had its rewards. Surprising how many engineers started out as musicians.
In 2024, I retired from the tech industry and turned my attention fully to the passions I’d been nurturing all along: writing, music composition, film work, and now, exploring the possibilities of AI-generated video. After years of balancing art and career, I’m devoting my days to creating, experimenting, and occasionally wondering why I didn’t do this sooner.
My Vision
This site is a home base for my ongoing creative work—new music, fresh video projects, and stories that range from heartfelt to just a little off-center. I’ll also be diving into the tools of the trade, sharing honest reviews of plugins and DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), along with tutorials for those who want to sharpen their skills or simply find out what that mysterious button in their software actually does.
If I can save you an hour of frustration by explaining it in five minutes, I’ll consider it a win.
But this isn’t just about my work. I want this to be a space where other creatives—especially fellow seniors who know that creativity doesn’t come with an expiration date, and younger artists with fresh perspectives—can share their own music and stories. A place to get feedback, trade ideas, and maybe even collaborate across generations. Think of it as a virtual coffeehouse: part stage, part workshop, and part friendly conversation over a cup of something warm (or a glass of something stronger, depending on how your project went).
